What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond to different areas of the body. Through the use of gentle pressure and massage on these reflex points Reflexology can relax, relieve tension and alleviate symptoms and disorders.

How many treatments will I need?

Problems which have been present and developing over many years cannot be solved with one treatment. Everyone is individual and some people respond to Reflexology more quickly than others. Most people notice a difference after 2-3 sessions.

Is Reflexology painful?

Reflexology can be extremely relaxing, however if there is a part of the body that is unbalanced, the corresponding reflex point may feel sore or tender whilst I work to rebalance the area. Any discomfort will only last a short time as I work through the congestion and if necessary I can move on and return to rework the area later in the treatment.

How long will a session last?

A treatment usually lasts around an hour. However, the first treatment includes an additional 30 minutes consultation in which I can get to know you, your medical history and what you are looking to gain from your treatments.

Is Reflexology very ticklish?

No. The way in which I hold your feet with a firm pressure means that treatments are not at all ticklish. However, if we find an area on the feet is just ‘too tickly to treat’ hand reflexology can be used instead in order for you to still receive a full treatment.

Can Reflexology diagnose?

No. As a Reflexologist I am not able to diagnose or cure medical conditions. Your feet may indicate areas that are congested or out of balance within your body and we will be able to discuss what we find but if you have questions regarding a medical condition you should see your G.P.
